TEXT2TELL now available to the public

Law enforcement seek help in fighting crime

Last week, Monticello Police Chief Britt Smith, and area law enforcement along with Sheriff Greg Graver revealed a new service to the public: TEXT2TELL! This anonymous text message service allows people to send crime fighting tips into Jones County Dispatch without revealing their identity.

To utilize the service, simply open a new text message on your mobile device. In the “TO” field, type the word CRIMES (274637). For those with a BlackBerry device, simple type in 274637, as the numbers do not correspond with the word CRIMES.

In the message field, type JONES plus your message. For example: JONES
